Couple weeks back I got a Netflix account and have been taking advantage of their instant play feature. Well, Azailia has been taking more advantage of it than I. She’s been watching a bunch of cartoons she’s hasn’t seen in a while since I cut off my cable. (honestly, in this day and age what am I paying cable for??)

Azailia loves Peter Pan and while searching through the Veggie Tales, Johnny Test and Clifford movies  she found play performance of Pan. She was so enraptured that I let her stay up way past her bed time to watch the who show which ran around 2 hrs. She was so excited to watch it I got into it and was inspired to create the image above. She also drew the type, I added a little Pope Dust to the final though. So today’s image is brought to you by my daughter Azailia. Not so much as she drew it but more that she inspired it mainly because its an illustration of her. As the title so greatly states. Today is day one of my everyday design/illustration blog posts. First a little history on the illustrator and the need to do this. I, by all means, am a slacker. I have it in my blood and I’m desperately in need of a disciplined transfusion. So this is my transfusion. Taking up a tremendous challenge so that I may accomplish something great for myself and everyone around me. Discipline.

For years it has escaped me, I am Jonah and discipline is my white whale. In my infinite search I have allowed myself to falter and fail time and time again. Simply because I allowed myself to fail. This is from not conditioning myself to stay vigilant and allowing myself the easy way out. Looking back that’s sad, my daughter Azailia, is the most vigilant person I’ve ever met. Her ability to fight sleep is unmatched by anyone on this planet. She will be my role model for this project.

It is currently 10pm on the 1st of January 2010. I have 2 hrs to produce an Illustration. It might not be great but it will be an illustration. See you in a bit.
