As the photo is evidence of; I have returned from the future to bring you news of what’s to come:

  • They are still making superhero movies and have rebooted Spider-man 3 more times.
  • Obama’s son has become CEO of America with a hostile stock buyout of the white house.
  • The Popephoenix blog had still not been updated since 2010.

1 of these things really did sit right with me so I’m here to correct the biggest error of the next century by updating my blog again. The last two months have been crazy and along the way I lost my focus, got caught up in a mental bog and let the world dictate my decisions instead of the other way around. In my travels I’ve learned that inaction and action hold the same weight of responsibility.

Today is first day of weekly posts on Monday. Daily blogs was a lot for me to take on but was very helpful of my continued effort to become a better illustrator and eventually paid concept artist. I learned so much from the 3 months of daily posts that I want to do it again but I have to build up to that level. As the title so greatly states. Today is day one of my everyday design/illustration blog posts. First a little history on the illustrator and the need to do this. I, by all means, am a slacker. I have it in my blood and I’m desperately in need of a disciplined transfusion. So this is my transfusion. Taking up a tremendous challenge so that I may accomplish something great for myself and everyone around me. Discipline.

For years it has escaped me, I am Jonah and discipline is my white whale. In my infinite search I have allowed myself to falter and fail time and time again. Simply because I allowed myself to fail. This is from not conditioning myself to stay vigilant and allowing myself the easy way out. Looking back that’s sad, my daughter Azailia, is the most vigilant person I’ve ever met. Her ability to fight sleep is unmatched by anyone on this planet. She will be my role model for this project.

It is currently 10pm on the 1st of January 2010. I have 2 hrs to produce an Illustration. It might not be great but it will be an illustration. See you in a bit.
