How to feel miserable as an artist

I was bouncing around twitter today when I came across the tumblr page of Filthy Fabulous and found this little diddy. It basically breaks down the mentality of an artist. How we constantly doubt ourselves, worry what others think about our work, get complacent and even let others dictate our own creative flow. Its all self-deprecating and very unproductive. Now I won’t say that this short list will be the beginning of change for me… I’ve grown out of that phase. But it does present a challenge to fight against my normal thoughts and creative processes. Brianwood-Public Domain 2 artbook

I was sent this link to BRIAN WOOD’s free book Public Domain 2 by my good friend Cameron Moore today. True to his word, its free, its huge (115megs, 132 pages) its great to look through. Last month I was fortunate enough to have met Antoine Young owner of Whiskey Glass Studios. After a meeting and a few glasses of Whiskey (Jamerson’s of course) we decided to collaborate on a project combining our skills. I was tasked to overlay my illustrations into his fine photography. This was my first gallery show and I have to admit I really enjoyed it. I’m looking forward to doing another show later this year. Thanks again goes out to WGS for joining forces with me on a dope project.
