Who is Pope Phoenix?
Pope Phoenix is the alias of William Pope, a self-taught, Bronx born artist who shares the same name with a collection of artists who all work in art & design. In order to stand out in a crowd of artistic men named William Pope he assumed a pen name. Pope Phoenix was born… or resurrected. Whichever sounds cooler in your head…
Over the course of his art career, he has worked in many fields: magazines, illustration, graphic design, animation, as well as web design. After a short stint in the fashion world, which saw his designs on the shelves of Old Navy, Target and Wal-Mart, he began to focus solely on illustration and painting.
This September he will be releasing a children’s book under his publishing company, P’s & Q’s, called Charlie and His Imaginary Friend. Check out www.psnqs.com for more information.
