I’m currently working on a subway series of illustrations that show you a the world of commuting to work using Metropolitan Transit Authority system every morning. There is such a wide variety of people, cultures and freaks of nature that pop up in the early morning commute. Here are some clips of the sketches I’ve done for these pieces. This is not the entire series as there are more that I haven’t scanned yet. Keep a look out for more glimpses of this project in the near future.

I have this poem I wrote about waiting for my next girl friend to arrive into my life. Which is done and complete but the visual wasn’t and still isn’t. At the same time, I’ve come to grips with the fact that I’m lazy and have been really neglectful of my work, readers and fans. Here’s a little taste of what’s to come. I’m posting  again later today with a list of the upcoming projects I’m working on so look out for that around 4pm today.

Somehow this turned out to be Kanye West Week with all these Kanyeezy posts going up and coming soon. This guy is possibly the only true personality we have in Hip-Hop who has some artistic credibility. I know that is a bit statement to make but beyond him I PERSONALLY feel most people who make music today isn’t to be great or exceptional at their craft but to get a buck out the end. So yes, I can say that Kanye seems to be a rare artist in Hip-hop.

Through his determination to be the best he takes risks and chances with his music and audience by doing what he thinks is best not what the latest trend is. He is loved and hated for this and this is why his music inspires me. He asks for forgiveness and not permission. Its a lesson myself and my fellow artist need to learn. I’m getting the lesson. More work to come.

I like Kanye West. I am a fan of his music and occasionally I am inspired by it. Recently he’s been dropping singles of his new album and I’ve been getting hyped. The first was “Power” that had all kinds of crazy beats, sounds, choirs and shit going on. I’m actually working on a piece for that now. The second one was “Monster” featuring Jay-Z, Nicki Minaj and supposedly Rick Ross. Another really dope track that I listened to repeatedly. This was the inspiration for this piece. I thought about adding some blind shades to him or even making a Frankenstein Kanye… but that was back seat driving and those ideas came after it was completed. Literally as I posted this that came to mind.

Below you will find the original concept for this piece with no reference. I showed it to my co-worker Scott from ewearesheep.com and he set me straight on what Frankie should look like. Thanks scott it came out pretty cool with your help.

Mental Note: I think I’ve been going to simple with my art and need to add some insanity and spontaneity to them.

As we all know… my painting skills aren’t the best. They are almost abysmal. BUT I’m trying and in the end, isn’t that what’s its all about? Improvement? Desire? At least that’s what I’ve been telling myself to keep motivated. I did this in Art Rage this semi-free painting program that works for both mac and pc. I looking to get my hands on painter so that I can get a little more precise because the tools in AR are pretty loose.
